In the late 1960s, Sinatra hit commercial paydirt with this depiction of a laconic private eye, living on a houseboat in Miami and solving crimes now and then. Sinatra saunters through Swinging 60s Miami, having great fun as a sort of updated Philip Marlowe (ably supported by an excellent ensemble cast), and even managed, while shooting Tony Rome in the daytime, to get in some evening shows singing at the Fontainebleau Hotel.
