Benny's Video

Haneke explores simplistic ideas about the relationship between images and violence.

After a 14-year-old kills (for reasons unclear even to himself) a girl he's just met, his parents face a terrible dilemma: to inform the authorities or to protect their child? Eshewing simplistic cause-and-effect ideas about the relationship between images and violence, Haneke explores both how our growing dependence on technology may distance us from certain emotional and existential realities, and how ethics and self-interest easily become blurred.
