This drama about the lead-up to the Falklands War was shelved by the BBC during casting in 1986. The reason provided by the BBC at the time being that there might be an election within the next two years, leading to accusations of left-wing bias in the corporation. With the arrival of BBC4 the project was revived to allow us to make up our own minds about the difficult decision to go to war - reminding us that the left does not have the monopoly on 'radical' drama & sporting a fine performance from Patricia Hodge as Thatcher.

We are pleased to announce that Richard Broke, producer of Tumbledown, will join the panel to discuss this production in relation to The Falklands Play.
