Knife in the Water

Polanski's debut feature is a deceptively simple story that develops into a bitter internal drama about three people: a young hitchhiker and an elegant married couple. With just three actors, a boat and a vast expanse of water, Polanski achieves a spare masterpiece of tension and ambiguity.
