Mesrine: Killer Instinct

Inspired by the confession French gangster Jacques Mesrine wrote in prison, part one of Richet's biopic charts the beginnings of Mesrine's notorious life of crime. Returning to Paris having endured brutal experiences in the Algerian War, Mesrine is quickly seduced by the prospect of glamour and easy money in working with mob boss Guido (Gérard Depardieu). But as his criminal career takes off, Mesrine struggles to keep his family, and himself, in one piece. Centred on a magnificent performance by Vincent Cassel, this thrillingly tense film will leave you eager to see part two.
