TCM

Film channel TCM (Turner Classic Movies) delivers outstanding films from all genres, tailor-made documentaries and exclusive interviews with the biggest stars.

TCM (Turner Classic Movies), a long-time friend of the BFI, will be sponsoring this year’s Screen Talks series the popular on-stage talent interviews, held as part of the Times BFI 51st London Film Festival. In addition it will continue to hold the award ceremony for it's eighth annual competition TCM Classic Shorts, which takes place on Wednesday 31 October as part of the Festival.

TCM regularly screens one to one interviews on the channel with a host of industry insiders and with the TCM Screen Talks series at the Festival it offers audiences a completely unique experience to interact off screen with A-list talent, talking about the things that they love, hate and find inspirational. This year's line-up includes:

Laura Linney on 30 October

Wes Anderson on 31 October

The TCM Classic Shorts award ceremony will be hosted once again by BBC radio and TV broadcaster, journalist and author Andrew Collins and screens the films by six finalists whose work has made it on to the short list from over 380 entrants not only from the UK but, for the first time this year, Europe, Middle East and Africa. The short listed films are chosen by an elite group of individuals drawn from the UK, Germany and Sweden film industries who combine Hollywood and independent studio experience. This year's judging panel includes some of the most extraordinary film making talent working today and their combined experience covers a vast range of disciplines within the industry.

TCM Classic Shorts judges for 2007 include: Lasse Hallstrom, Kevin Mcdonald, Simon Pegg, Stephen Woolley, Cillian Murphy, Paul Andrew Williams, Detlev Buck, Wendy Ide, Jason Solomons, Nev Pierce and Dan Jolin.

TCM Classic Shorts is one of the most prestigious and valuable short film competitions across Europe, Middle East and Africa awarding £10,000 prize money. In addition it gives successful entrants exposure for their work to TCM's audience of over 10 million UK viewers during a special weekend of programming on 3rd and 4th November. Many past winners have gone on to achieve critical and commercial success; last year's winning film, was Silence is Golden by Chris Shepherd and featured some innovative animation. The 2006 winner Jane Lloyd directed by Happy was used by singer David Gray for the video to his single Alibi, with one the finalists Cubs directed by Tom Harper being nominated for a BAFTA.

TCM offers outstanding films from all genres, tailor-made documentaries and exclusive interviews with the biggest stars and is available on SKY 319, VIRGIN TV 419 and TOP UP TV ANYTIME. www.tcmonline.co.uk
