Journey of Hope

Charting the increasingly troubled journey a Turkish couple undertake – illegally, with the 'help' of people-smugglers – in the hope of starting anew in Switzerland, this very affecting drama eschews sentimentality for a rather tougher approach to characterisation and plot. (It's perhaps unsurprising that it was based on real events.) For many Europe may seem a distant dream; all too often, trying to reach it becomes the stuff of nightmare.
