KinderTransport
BFI Southbank opens Noise of Art's new audio-visual sculpture, KinderTransport. Inspired by the mission that rescued 10,000 Jewish children from Nazi Germany between 1938-40, the artwork will tour the UK and the European departure points of the Kindertransport trains. At each installation a new AV work by a contemporary artist will reflect on Kindertransport and the benefits the Kinder brought to the world. Amongst the children were future Nobel Prize winners, artists, scientists, philanthropists and musicians.
The sculpture is by Ralph Koltai CBE, celebrated set designer, artist and Kindertransport survivor, and the project is created by cross-platform artist Ben Osborne.
