With film from the BFI National Archive and live electronic music, Noise of Art launches the first release from the new partnership between the BFI and Noise of Art Recordings. Inspired by EA Dupont's British 20s night-life classic Piccadilly, 'Piccadilly Nite Versions #1' sees a nu disco soundtrack, by Les Hommes du Train, being set to a re-edited short version of the film, with some unexpected results.
For the second debut of the night, acclaimed electronic producer Vector Lovers will perform Day in the Life of a Coal Miner (filmed in 1910) for the first time. We're also pleased to welcome A Man Called Adam back for a rare performance of their superb commissioned score for Visit to Peek Frean and Co's Biscuit Works (1906). Rounding things off, Punx Soundcheck make their debut live performance, also revealing their new AV partnership with Machines Are Gonna Kill Us; and finally Ben Osborne and Overlap reveal their new live AV interpretation for the 'Piccadilly Nite Versions' series. The screening will be followed by a celebratory party with the assembled acts DJing in benugo bar.
