Frequently asked questions about using the library.

What are the library’s opening times?

(We host access with appointment times running Tuesday-Thursday 10.30am-1pm and 2-5.30pm.)

Is the library open during holiday periods?

The library is closed over Christmas, Easter and on all other public holidays.

Is there a charge for using the BFI Reuben Library?

No, the library is free to use and open to everyone.

I’d like to organise a group visit. How do I arrange this?

If you would like to organise a group visit to the BFI Reuben Library, please get in touch using our bookings form. We do our best to fit in as many groups as possible, although space limitations mean we may not be able to accommodate every request.

I’m searching for a certain book. Is it available in the library?

You can search our collections before you visit.

Can I request materials (such as journals) before my visit?

If the item you are looking for is held by the library, you can complete an advance request form before your visit for the material to be ready for you to consult upon your arrival. You can ask for up to five items in advance. Please note that all offsite material needs to be requested in advance and can take up to five working days to be available.

Would the BFI Reuben Library be interested in a copy of my thesis?

We are always interested in obtaining theses, published books and journals to fill the gaps in our collection. You can find more information about donations on our page.
