Belfast – June 2010

In conjunction with our partner Northern Ireland Screen, local commentators Mike Catto and Brian Henry Martin (Doubleband Films and Belfast Film Festival) were joined by the UK Film Council’s David Steele and John Newbigin on the stage. Films depicting The Troubles like The Crying Game and In the Name of the Father, which drew international attention to Northern Ireland and its blossoming film industry, were two of many case studies discussed.
