BFI Film Academy short courses

These include a broad range of workshops, masterclasses and sessions where participants aged 16 to19 are given an opportunity to watch British independent and specialised cinema, while developing their soft and hands-on technical skills through practical filmmaking.

Activities will be led by industry experts, mentors and practitioners who will provide knowledgeable input to participants. In addition, the course should support participants to construct a career plan and cover signposting to next step opportunities, referring to Film Academy Specialist courses and alumni activities.

Guidelines are for organisations that wish to make an application to deliver for BFI Film Academy scheme during the 2022 to 2023 school year.
