“Truth in drama is forever elusive. You never quite find it, but the search for it is compulsive.”
To mark the 10th anniversary of Harold Pinter’s death we’ve teamed up with The Jamie Lloyd Company and Faber & Faber to offer you this wonderful bundle of goodies.
Two stalls tickets to the explosive opening of the Jamie Lloyd Company’s extraordinary West End theatre season celebrating Harold Pinter. The winner will see four short plays in one evening: One for the Road, New World Order, Mountain Language and Ashes to Ashes.
Cast includes Paapa Essiedu and Maggie Steed, with direction from Jamie Lloyd and Lia Williams. Further shows in the season — which celebrates the legacy of the Nobel prize-winning British writer on the 10th anniversary of his death — feature an all-star cast including Danny Dyer, Celia Imrie, Martin Freeman, Jane Horrocks, Gary Kemp, Tamsin Greig and David Suchet. Two tickets to a film and event of your choice in the BFI’s Pinter On Screen: Power, Sex and Politics season this August. Highlights include Harold Pinter: Art, Truth & Politics + Pinter’s Politics: a panel discussion with documentary activist John Pilger, director Jamie Lloyd and cast, chaired by Michael Billington, plus rare screenings of Pinter’s adaptations such as The Comfort of Strangers and The Handmaid’s Tale.
And finally a bundle of literary classics courtesy of Faber & Faber — one of the world’s great publishing houses — whose list of authors includes 13 Nobel laureates and six Booker prizewinners. Titles include Harold Pinter by Michael Billington (the curator of the BFI’s season), Moonlight, The Caretaker, A Slight Ache and The Birthday Party.
