Synopsis

Looks back at the beginnings of the London Pop Art Scene, in the 1950's, with the Independent Group at the Institute of Contemporary Arts. Reconstructs some of the events, attitudes and influences of the time and discusses with the survivors, among them Richard Hamilton, Lawrence Alloway, Nigel Henderson and the late John McHale, how it was then and how it looks today.
