The Fur Collar (1963)

Jorgensen, wearing a fur collared coat, is shot on arrival at his Paris hotel by Eddie. Mike, a newspaper investigator from London, wears a similar coat and persuades Legrain of the Sureté that he was the intended victim. Mike then sees Harding whom he once exposed for espionage hand a magazine to Marie. She later gives it to Eddie who takes money out of it. On a train for Marseilles Mike tricks Eddie into shooting him with an empty revolver and he is then accused of murdering Jorgensen. Promised a reprieve by the Sureté, Eddie's information leads to Harding's arrest. In a coil of wire Harding was carrying vital information. The murder charge is dropped when Jorgensen appears, the bullet having struck a heavy cigar case and merely knocked him unconscious.
