Synopsis

The film opens with a map of Germany in 1870 showing the frontiers and main rivers. Position of iron and coal fields are marked. The industrial developments - coal, steel, electrical and chemical industries - and the consequent concentration of population in the Saar, Ruhr, Westphalia and Siberia are indicated. The expansion of colonies -Togo, Cameroon, etc.
