Film details

Synopsis

Romantic comedy thriller. Paris-based UNESCO translator Regina Lampert ('Reggie') is told that her husband Charles has been found dead after being thrown from a train, and moreover he was leading a life of multiple identities. As the Paris police investigate his murder, Reggie finds herself menaced by a motley group of men (rangy Tex Penthollow, sniffly Leopold Gideon and metal-clawed Herman Scobie), all of whom believe she possesses a quarter of a million dollars, which Charles had taken but which they say belonged to them all. Tex and Scobie act threateningly to her in a bid to make her hand this fortune over. Helping Reggie is Peter Joshua, a suave new friend she has bumped into on a skiing holiday. Furthermore, Reggie is called to the office of Hamilton Bartholomew at the US embassy, who tells Reggie he is involved with the C.I.A. and that the money must be handed to the US authorities once she has found it. A series of shocks await Reggie, many of them involving secrets that Peter is hiding. As the men begin to meet untimely ends, the mystery grows as the list of suspects shrinks.
