Film details

Hammer's last prehistoric film which follows in the footsteps of One Million Years B.C (1966), When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth (1969) and Slave Girls (1967). A volcanic eruption kills and scatters the rock tribe and two tribesmen battle for the leadership of the tribe. Mak prevails, and leads his tribe across a barren wilderness until they meet up with the Fair tribe. Mak takes a wife and she becomes pregnant and gives birth to two sons, one blond and one dark. When grown up, and with their father dead , the two sons battle for supremacy of the tribe - battling a fearsome group of neanderthals, a huge cave bear, the murderous and supernatural mud men and themselves before one of them prevails in a spectacular fight atop a huge cliff.
