The promiscuity of teenagers at Peterbridge Grammar School entitles them to membership of the 'The Yellow Teddybears'. One member, Linda, becomes pregnant and is induced to earn money for an abortion by attending a party in London. She takes with her an innocent classmate whose appearance after the weekend wearing a yellow teddybear, together with gossip overheard by the science mistress, Anne Mason, reveals the meaning of the badge. Linda's abortion is prevented by her father who now completes his neglect by disowning her. He informs the headmistress and Linda leaves home for London. Anne Mason tries to help her class by revealing her own experience. She is called before the School Board who disagree with her motives and her action. She resigns, helpless to do more.
