Elephant (1989)

Film details

"It is said that for those who live in Northern Ireland, the troubles are as easy to ignore as an elephant in your living-room." Drama providing an indirect commentary on the pitiless sectarian murders that have become almost a routine feature of news from Ireland. The film shows a succession of structurally-similar, seemingly motiveless male shootings, without music, without commentary, largely without dialogue, and without explanation.
