An appeal film for the Papworth Village Settlement, in the form of a story about a young tuberculosis sufferer who is cured at Papworth and given the chance of working and living there with his wife. It begins with an introduction by Madeleine Carroll, and then moves onto the story proper. In a doctor's consulting room the character Tom is advised by a doctor to give up work and go into a sanatorium. Tom and his wife talk about the financial impossibility of his going for treatment, but the local vicar comes round to say he has learned from the doctor about Tom's T.B., and mentions Papworth. At Papworth Tom shows his wife round and explains that they may have to be apart until the time there is enough money to build a cottage for the two of them. Later in the film the couple are shown in their new home, praising the Papworth Settlement. At the end Aubrey Smith gives an appeal on the basis that "it might be you", and a final intertitle reads "Papworth's immediate and urgent need is for £100,000".
