The Wandering Jew (1934)

Film details

Story of the Jew condemned to live through the ages.

The following statement regarding the story appears after the opening credits: 'FOREWORD Out of the unrecorded past come many tales, tales that have been told long before books were written, passing from mouth to mouth, through many languages and lands, firing artists' imagination, and filling poems and stories. Some of them have grown out of man's eternal questioning of life and death, wondering what it would be like to live forever - - to be so blessed or so cursed. No one knows their ancient sources; for the most part our only record lies in the contradictory documents of the middle ages. It is here wefind the strangest tale of all, the story of THE WANDERING JEW'
