Synopsis

Follows the stories of a 13 year-old who is working on the design of a lighting system as part of a school project, and two 15 year-olds involved with the design and organisation of the school's end-of-year fund-raising event. Covers the different aspects involved in design activities: developing communication skills; generating ideas; research and data recording; time and resource management; using outside help; and evaluating. Emphasises that there is no single correct approach to design and making, and shows the importance of working co-operatively.
