When seven cases of streptococcus bacterial infection struck people in the Stroud area of Gloucestershire in May 1994, the press packed the town and talk of a new plague was rife in the national news media. The programme makers look at the way the `epidemic' was handled by medical staff and journalists alike and the effects on people in the town of the media attention.
