New Jersey Drive (1995)

Film details

Portrait of street culture, casual teenager crime and out-of-control lawlessness. Black teenager Jason lives with his mother and sister in the toughest part of Newark and spends his time with a gang whose main diversion is stealing cars and taking them for joy rides. At the outset Jason is being locked up in a detention hall and his narration takes the film back to a summer night while he's on a joy ride with two friends and gets hunted by the police.
