Synopsis

A programme from the BBC2 series consisting of three main stories: `Railtrack' a report by Simon Gompertz into the privatisation of Railtrack, looking in particular at the lower than expected flotation value and the possible implications for safety; `Stakeholding' Ros Bew gathers the opposing views of two British businessmen, John Neil from Unipart and Sir Stanley Kalms of Dixons on the "stakeholder economy" an idea floated in January 1996 by Tony Blair; `Car Industry' a report by Steve Annett on the slump in annual car sales, which dealers blame on the manufacturers.
