Drama documentary exploring the issue of euthanasia, telling the story of Derek Humphrey, who helped his first wife to die in England, then married an American woman, and moved to the US. He wrote a best selling book on euthanasia and founded Hemlock - an organisation to give practical help to those who wanted to die and to push to make euthanasia legal. Derek and Ann helped Ann's parents to die, but therafter their marriage failed. Ann was diagnosed with cancer and committed suicide.
