Synopsis

Documentary portrayal of the campaign by local residents to protect their homes from demolition during the construction of the M11 road link in East London.

An experimental musical documentary filmed during the long and bitter campaign by local residents protesting against plans to demolish their homes to build the M11 Link Road in East London. Using recordings made of people's reminiscences, the score incorporates fragments of speech and natural sounds. "Based on real events which transformed people's lives...music and images are woven into an elegaic evocation of memory and loss, which is both moving and at times gently humorous."
