Portrait of a 73 year-old retired refuse collector who came to Britain from Jamaica in the 1950s and lives alone in a ramshackle but extraordinary house in a south east London suburb. Inspired by a mixture of dreams, childhood memories and religion, Mr Pink has decorated his Victorian mansion inside and out with the intense colours of the Caribbean, combined with other influences such as the stained glass windows of churches. His urge for self-expression includes recording his own music and songs and hat-making.
