Mumford (1999)

Film details

Comedy drama. Mumford is the title of a small town in the United States, and it happens also to be the name of the town's new psychiatrist, an earnest young man with unorthodox but helpful methods of curing his clientele (who include a chronically lethargic young woman, a rich man's wife who is a compulsive shopper, a man obsessed with 1950s-style erotic fiction fantasies and wealthy young entrepreneur with a secret project who cannot find love). Though Mumford proves popular with his patients, questions arise as to his background and he feels professionally compromised when he starts to fall for one of his patients.
