Synopsis

Biographical drama. A story based on true events which looks at the life of Basque freedom fighter Dolores Gonzalez, also known as 'Yoyes'. In 1973 Yoyes became disillusioned with the ideals of ETA, the group she had joined, when an older member was assassinated. Having given an interview to the BBC following a bombing incident in Madrid, Yoyes went into exile in Mexico, but twelve years later left for Paris in an attempt to live a normal life with her husband and family. Eventually, Yoyes decided to return to the Basque country, but this act was seen as betrayal by other members of ETA and used as a propaganda exercise by the government, leading to an inevitably tragic conclusion.
