Synopsis

Drama. Jefferson, a young field hand, accepts a lift from two locals and becomes the only surviving witness to a triple homicide. Sentenced to death his family and friends realise that, although he is innocent, as a black man he cannot escape execution. The year is 1948. They set out to give him back his self-esteem with the help of a local teacher. It becomes an important relationship for both prisoner and teacher.
