Two Family House (2000)

Film details

Drama. Buddy Visalo has tried various jobs and business ventures during his life, which have had a tendency to be unsuccessful. At one time an aspiring singer, but dissuaded from pursuing his showbusiness dreams by his then bride-to-be, Buddy has flirted with the idea of making a vast amount of money ever since. When he gets the idea of buying a house big enough for two families that he can refurbish, his wife wearily indulges him one more time. When the sale has gone through, Buddy is dismayed to find there are two tenants in place: an alcoholic Irish immigrant and his much younger, pregnant wife. When the wife gives birth to a child of African-American extraction, she is abandoned by her husband. Buddy decides to help mother and child by paying for a room in the area, keeping the fact secret from his wife.
