Drama. 17th century playwright Giovanni Andreini is the head of a theatre company known as the Company of Faithful Comics. After waiting for a lengthy period, the company is finally given permission by the Duke of Mantua to go to Paris to perform. Thus Andreini begins writing his new piece, which will be called `Love in the Mirror'. Romantic complications ensue when a young girl asks to join the troupe - without any acting experience - and Andreini becomes smitten with her. Unfortunately his wife is not quite so happy about the situation.
