Borstal Boy (2000)

Film details

Synopsis

Biographical drama. A story inspired by the book by Brendan Behan detailing the experiences of a young Irish Republican boy, staunchly anti-British, who is sent to a reformatory school in East Anglia during the early years of the Second World War, having been arrested in Liverpool while in possession of some dynamite. The boy, Brendan, soon finds himself surrounded by `the enemy' in the form of a group of fellow juvenile delinquents, such as a Polish Jew who attempted to escape to Palestine, a Cockney sailor, and a Scottish boy.
