RACHIDA (2002)

Rachida is a beautiful young teacher living in Algiers during the worst years of terrorism. One morning as she goes to work without a veil, she is taken to task by a group of terrorists. They tell her to plant a bomb in the school. When she refuses they shoot her in the stomach. Miraculously Rachina survives but decides to leave Algiers seeking refuge in a village. She moves in with her mother, who is also a disgraced woman because she is divorced.
