Film details

Synopsis

Documentary in which filmmaker Steve James looks at the complicated life of his childhood friend Stephen Dale 'Stevie' Fielding; a man he hadn't seen for a decade before filming began in 1995. In the intervening ten years Stevie has been in and out of orphanages and mental hospitals and nurtures an abiding hatred of his mother. During filming Stevie is arrested for molesting an eight-year-old cousin and chooses jail over psychiatric treatment.
