Synopsis

A Hindi-language comedy drama shot entirely in England, starring Simi Garewal in a double role playing two very different women, explores the adaptation of young Asians into British culture. Rajesh is happily in love with Rita, a westernized sophisticated Asian woman, but is forced to marry Sita, a traditional Asian, childlike girl. Rajesh is unhappy at Sita's uncivilised behaviour and she leaves, not before she has given birth to a baby boy who she leaves behind. Rajesh brings him up, one day he meets Rita again and they continue their affair, the boy believing her to be his mother. But Rajesh has problems getting used to her modern independent lifestyle. After the boy has a car accident, Sita reenters the scene. Rita decides to go away but the boy follows her and they leave on a train together, leaving Rajesh and Sita together. The film features some great shots of London in the late 60s and the English countryside.
