Hangdog comedian Sean Hughes and writer and broadcaster Jane Goldman turn detective to nail an 1807 poisoner in deepest Yorkshire, in the series that sets out to solve fascinating and macabre crimes from history. Using only the evidence available to the police at the time, the two celebrities have just three days to find out who the killer was. Starting at the real murder scene they have to immerse themselves in the history of the place and the period, consulting experts and chasing leads before naming their murderer and giving their evidence to presenter and task master Jerome Lynch QC.
