Synopsis

Sandra reviews the morning's papers.

'Is Torture Acceptable?' The Americans have Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind behind the September 11th, attack in custody. Would torture be acceptable to interrogate him? How far would you go to save lives? Discussion includes comment from John Schlapobersky in the audience (he suffered three months of torture under the apartheid regime).

'Sugar and spice' Channel Four screened 'Girls Alone' last night. A film of 10 eleven year old girls left alone in a house it was a contrast to the progamme last year when eleven year old boys were left alone in the house. Why do girls and boys behave so differently?

Continuing the series on first aid for children - today Dr Rosemary Leonard offers advice on coping with choking and poisoning.
