Football is the richest and most popular sport in the world, and top clubs cash in on gate receipts, television deals and merchandise. This report investigates why Manchester United, of all the major British clubs in the Premier League is the only one to be successful in reporting profits, whilst Leeds United reported pre-tax losses of almost £50 million - the British Game's worst ever deficit.
