Economic Editor of 'The Times'. Filmed the day before devaluation of the pound, November '67. Prophesied devaluation that weekend, gave reasons for believing devaluation should have taken place earlier, and suggested what would happen during next three years in the event of devaluation. Following week wrote article in Times which caused Prime Minister to refuse to appear on television with him. Position complicated by being son of former President of the Board of Trade, son-in-law of present Chancellor of Exchequer.
