Synopsis

In the Scottish Highlands, Glaswegian Ritchie meets and falls for Beth, an English conservationist campaigning to save endangered mussels. Swotting up on local flora and fauna, Ritchie begins to work with Beth at the struggling conservation centre she runs, but he also uses the centre's secret information on pearl hotspots to further his main aim: illegal pearl-fishing. He also has to fight off the unwanted attention of Glaswegian gangster Gavin, who is trying to find a way in to the lucrative pearl-fishing trade. Meanwhile, his feelings for Beth make him see that he cannot continue with this double life.
