Only after creating this list can I can see what all these films have in common: a search for time in cinematic storytelling. If I had to make another list tomorrow, it would perhaps be formed of Ordet, Walden, M, Le mépris, La règle du jeu, The Birds, Satantango, Apur sansar, Humanity and Paper Balloons and Shoah. And this second list would be just as valid for me as the first one.
