Choosing from the greatest movies ever, I’ve picked those that were important to me, that made an impact in the way that I understand and want to experience film. I believe that they’re all important to the medium, anyway. I’m more interested in film as an experience – dreamlike and even on non-verbal film, far from the novelistic structure pursued by most of the features. Film as magic, fabulous the way Mèliés evisioned it, a world where animators and experimental filmmakers find a perfect ground for creation.
