Festival Filmmaker accreditation is by invitation only.

Who can apply

UK and international delegates who fall into one of the following categories:

  • Industry accreditation is for individuals currently working in a professional capacity in the UK film industry or wider screen sectors.
  • Press accreditation is for individuals currently reporting and/or reviewing in a professional capacity in the UK film industry or wider screen sectors.
  • Festival filmmaker accreditation is offered to the core creatives of each film screening in this year’s festival.
  • BFI Film Academy accreditation is available to all 18 to 25-year-olds based in the UK and interested in pursuing and progressing a career in the film industry. Over 25s in full-time education and in possession of a valid student ID can also apply.

Press and Industry (P&I) screenings

Booking or reserving a place at P&I screenings

In-person P&I screenings operate on a first-come-first-served basis. Further details will be made available closer to the festival.

Which P&I screenings can I attend?

Silver and Press delegates can attend all in-person P&I screenings at BFI Southbank from 20 September – 1 October and all in-person and online P&I screenings during the festival.

Bronze and Festival Filmmaker delegates can only attend in-person and online P&I screenings during the festival.

BFI Film Academy delegates can attend all in-person P&I screenings during the festival.

How do I watch online P&I screenings?

Online P&I screenings will be hosted on our dedicated Industry platform. It operates in a similar way to BFI Player and other video-on-demand websites, and eligible delegates will be emailed login details in advance.

Industry programme

Will the industry events be in-person or online?

This year’s talks and panels will be delivered in person. Events will be recorded and made available online after the festival.

Will the BFI Film Academy events be in-person or online?

Talks, panels and filmmaker interviews will comprise a mix of online and in-person events.

What COVID-19 procedures will be in place?

In line with UK Government guidelines, all LFF events and screenings will operate at full capacity.

Will I need to wear a mask for P&I screenings and/or industry events?

Unless exempt, we politely ask all delegates, staff and volunteers to wear a face mask in the cinema screen and while moving around the building.

Can I become a BFI Member?

LFF delegates are eligible for a discounted paper-free Membership to the BFI. This offer will be emailed to delegates.
