Anastasia Kerameos

Librarian for Serials and e-resources

Anastasia began her BFI career in 1991 and currently heads the team responsible for the acquisition, cataloguing, care and promotion of the library’s serials and e-resources collection. The collection includes journals, annuals, film festival and trade catalogues.

Inspired by the library’s pre-cinema collections and developments in the semantic web her dissertation for the MSc in Information Science, completed in 2013, focused on linked data and the creation of a domain-specific ontology for the magic lantern. She continues to pursue her interest in these areas, serving as committee member for The Magic Lantern Society and CILIP’s Cataloguing and Indexing Group.

Anastasia is currently working on two major projects. The first involves updating the catalogue records for the serials collection in compliance with new standards, part of which will be the introduction of subject headings for the journals; the second, rehousing the annual reports collection into acid-free storage.
