Dylan Cave

Dylan is collections development manager at the BFI National Archive, where he leads in delivering procedures for acquiring moving image into the national collection. As a curator in the fiction team from 2006 to 2016, Dylan was responsible for the acquisition of contemporary British features, short films and music videos, and co-programmed the ‘Projecting the Archive’ strand at the BFI Southbank.

He has curated film programmes about the last days of the British Empire, written about hip-hop and movies, and co-devised a number of BFI Player collections exploring cultural diversity in the UK. He has written for Sight & Sound, the British Council and preservation journals The Moving Image and Journal of Film Preservation, as well as being a substantial contributor to BFI Screenonline. He recently contributed chapters to the books Films that Sell and Black Star.
