What you’ll do on the course

  • gain hands-on experience of cinematography’s art and craft and the department’s roles
  • be taught by established industry professionals using industry-standard equipment
  • learn camera and lighting through tailored masterclasses and technical workshops
  • deepen your understanding of storytelling with a camera and how to gain employment in the industry
  • have guest speakers talking about the role of camera assistants, spark/gaffer (lighting) and a leading rental house
  • learn about the environmental impacts of cinematography and methods of sustainable practice
  • get an introduction to colour grading and the DIT pipeline
  • watch and discuss films
  • experience filming with actors
