Miriam Phelan

Miriam is Curator of Screencraft at the BFI National Archive. Miriam joined the BFI in 2025 and works with the collection of posters, designs, and photographs. Miriam has worked at the Charleston Trust, the V&A, and the Charles Dickens Museum. She completed her PhD in the History of Design at the Royal College of Art and the V&A researching the material culture of conflict and its impact on national memory. Miriam specialises in costume design for films, with a particular interest in Irish film.
